WhichPic Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how WhichPic Studios (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects information when you use WhichPic (the “app”).

Information We Collect

• Account information from Google Sign-In, including your Google account identifier and email address.
• Your username and profile picture selection.
• Photos you upload, plus file metadata such as content type, size, upload status, storage path, and timestamps.
• Photo pairs you create, including pair names and descriptions.
• Votes, reports, credits, credit progress, and related activity within the app.
• Technical and security logs, such as request, error, and security-event information, needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

How We Use Information

We use this information to authenticate users, operate the app, upload and display photos, show photo pairs in the feed, count votes, manage credits, process reports, prevent abuse, moderate content, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Public User Content And What Other Users Can See

WhichPic lets users create and view user-generated photo pairs. When you create a photo pair or participate in the app, other users may see your username, profile picture, uploaded photos included in the pair, pair names, pair descriptions, vote results, and related app activity. Upload only content that you have the right to share and that you are comfortable making visible in the app.

How We Disclose Information

We disclose information only as needed to run the service, comply with law, protect users and the service, or complete a business transfer permitted by law. This includes:

• Other app users, for the public user-content and activity described above.
• Google, which provides Google Sign-In for authentication, Google Cloud Storage for image storage, and Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch and label detection for image moderation when moderation is enabled. Uploaded images are sent to these Google services for storage and, when enabled, automated moderation.
• Service providers that process data on our behalf to operate, secure, debug, and support WhichPic.

We do not sell personal information or use uploaded photos for advertising.

Content Moderation

Uploaded photos may be automatically reviewed for unsafe or prohibited content before they are accepted for use in the app. We may also act on user reports. We may reject, limit distribution of, hide, or delete photos, or restrict accounts that violate our rules or create risk for the app or other users. Automated moderation can make mistakes.

Advertising and Privacy Choices

WhichPic uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process information related to your device and ad interactions, such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, technical information, and advertising or app-interaction data, to deliver, measure, limit, personalize, or otherwise support ads, depending on your region, device settings, and privacy choices.

We do not use the photos you upload or the content of your photo pairs to create personalized advertisements.

Where required by applicable law, WhichPic uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to present privacy choices before requesting ads and to let users update those choices later through the app’s Ad Privacy Preferences.

Data Retention And Deletion

We keep account information, uploaded photos, photo pairs, votes, credits, reports, and related data while your account is active or for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, or comply with legal obligations. We retain technical and security logs only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

You may delete eligible photos in the app. A photo that is part of a photo pair cannot be deleted until it is no longer part of that pair.

You may delete your account in the app. When deletion is completed, we delete your uploaded photos and stored photo files, photo pairs, reports connected to your account or photos, credit information, blocks, and account-session information. We delete or anonymize your Google account identifier, email address, username, and profile-picture selection. Votes on photo pairs you created are deleted with those photo pairs. Votes you cast on other users' photo pairs may remain only in de-identified form to preserve aggregate vote counts and service integrity; they are no longer associated with your personal account information.

Request Account Or Data Deletion From The Web

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion of your WhichPic account and associated data by emailing app.which.pic@gmail.com with the subject line "WhichPic deletion request". Include the email address associated with your account and enough information for us to verify that you control it. We may ask for reasonable verification before completing the request to protect accounts from unauthorized deletion. We will explain if we need to retain any limited data for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Security

We use authentication, access controls, signed upload and download URLs, and operational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

WhichPic is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
